Description
This acrylic painting by Anne Sands is based on a 1920 postcard of Amesbury, Ma market square. Amesbury, Ma was well known for building quality carriages before cars replaced horse drawn carriages. By 1891 there were more than 50 carriage manufacturers. The carriage worker families experienced a comfort, grace, and prosperity that could not be matched.
Amesbury today is a prosperous city that enjoys tourism in its many downtown restaurants.
